His main influences are Lowry, Brueghel and Kandinsky, which reflect his interest in both urban environment and the kaleidoscopic range of colours of rural Scotland.
He is interested in the lyrical as well as the humorous. He believes that art should lift the spirit and the greatest compliment you can pay Rob is to smile at his paintings.
